Character: This vintage is a perfect match with fruity pastries such as “tarte de pomme“ or served by the glass as an aperitife. Once opened, the wine will retain its quality for several weeks. Sweet "Beerenauslese", dominant fruit flavors with prominent tones of pear, tropical fruits and quince. Delicate tannins. This aged example showcases the striking notes of poached pear, caramel and orange marmalade that Tokaj is famous for.
Soil: Clay topsoil, with volcanic, high lime, iron subsoil containing rhiolite, trachyte, andesite and zeolite substances. Moisture is present in tufa rocks. Added soil compounds laid down through ancient fumaroles, lend a powerfully rich, complex minerality to the wine.
Cellar technology: Traditional Tokaj fermentation with several months of slow fermentation at low temperatures. Housed in partially new oak barrels.
Storage: Storage at a constant temperature at 12°C and 80% humidity. Clarification with Bentonite. Bottled in April 2009.
